On 8 October, 2023, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Kingdom of the Netherlands H.E. Mr. Viktor Biyagov held a meeting with the representatives of the Armenian community of Almelo.

Ambassador Biyagov participated in the Holy Mass offered by St. Gregory the Illuminator Church in Almelo and visited the memorial complex commemorating the victims of the Armenian Genocide.

An extended meeting was also held with the members of the management board of Saint Gregory the Illuminator Church of Almelo and representatives of a number of Armenian organizations operating in the city. During the meeting the significant role of the Armenian community in the development of Armenian-Dutch bilateral relations was emphasized. Amidst this historically challenging period for the Republic of Armenia, the invaluable support of Armenians in the Diaspora was highlighted.
